Zach Miller holding 2 of his 5 fish limit on Saturday

Kevin Voss holding 2 of the fish that helped him win the tournament on Sunday
Lots of guys were were remembering the Lake Jacksonville of old. However many left wondering what the heck happened to all the fish?!?! It has been a handful of years since the club had last been to Lake Jacksonville and the memories of big stringers had a lot of guys looking forward to the trip. However this time around, it proved to be a different story with only one limit weighed over the weekend. Saturday was the clubs most productive day with every angler bringing at least one fish to the scales. It was cloudy for the majority of the day which had guys catching fish all the way up to weigh in time. Sunday however proved to be a different story. For the majority, the bite stopped at around 8:30am leaving the anglers hard pressed to find a bite the rest of the day. Overall it proved to be a pretty good weekend of fishing, with a few fairing better than the rest.
The only limit of the two days was caught by Zach Miller, weighing in a 5 bass limit at 11.67 pounds on Saturday. Frank Labanowski took Big Bass honors with 4.18.
Sunday’s tournament was won by Kevin Voss. Kevin weighed in 4 fish with a combined weight of 12.3 pounds. Big Bass went to Zach Miller with a largemouth weighing 4.95 pounds. Great job guys!

Lake Jacksonville Pictures
Ya know, we can jump ahaead and forget I fished the Chicago River, but I’d really, really like the Sturgeon Bay results before L. Jacksonville… I didn’t place with 17 1/2 pounds, but at least I look like less of a schmuck.
What are you talking about? You made the front page of the website in the Lake Jacksonville picture! Good Job!!
Any chance of getting that place in April or May next year?
Actual-Mel tried to get Lake Jacksonville earlier. He had me talk to the the person in charge, after he said no to the three dates given I asked him “What dates are open?” and I took the date he gave us. Supposedly they only allow 34?? tournaments a year and only one per weekend, which was ours. Since this was in January when we called-I’ would say May April isn’t going to happen.
May or April would be nice, however I would take Jacksonville late summer before a lot of other places we fish at the same time of year. I would say try to go again next year.
I’m having a lot of trouble finding the tournaments before Jacksonville. Wha’s up? bluebass
Jim, at the top of the page is a heading called “Tournament Reports” Put your cursor over that heading and all the reports will be listed in a drop down menu. Hope that helps.
To admin: I cannot find anything on the Maple website about the Sturgeon Bay tournament last month. Three Maple guys had over 20 pounds and season records for big smallmouth and stringer of the year. The Federation Nation Northern Divisional today had 90 plus entries from 6 to 8 states and there were only 2 guys with stringers over 20 pounds. There’s an article about Jimmy Johnson and his winning weight on the Federation Nation website. bluebass
Coming soon Jim. It was an awesome tournament and I want the results page to show that. I’m waiting on the recap and it will be posted asap!!
