Oh my goodness, you have to love Illinois weather…NOT! Hurricane force winds, rain, sleet and snow met us on the lake. Why oh why do I put myself through this? The “I Hate This Place” tourney proved to uphold my personal feelings for this lake again! I just can’t figure it out and the more I think about it…does it really matter. Nearly the entire field caught fish and seemed to have a good day so I guess I picked right for our fisrt tourney of the year. For everyone else anyway! LOL
Ok so enough of the “Sour Grapes” what you really want to know is how they did so here is the scoop! Tommy Ondras won the shooting match with 6 fish that weighed 10lbs and that included the Big Bass of the day at 3lbs12ounces! Tommy is always tuff to beat on Braidwood of course he does spend every waking hour there from opening day on! But for that kind of dedication he definitely deserved the win! Tommy told us that he caught all of his fish on white spinner baits all over the lake and believe it or not…his partner actually backed him up(of course he would since he placed 2nd)! Speaking of which, his partner was our new webmaster Zack Miller and he caught 4 fish that weighed a hefty (For Braidwood anyway) 6lbs9oz ! So congratulations guys and try not to keep up the good work (you’re killin us on points) er,,,I mean…keep up the good work!
The rest of the field did a great job also with Frank Spacil and Ed Trevino rounding out the 3rd and 4th place spots respectively! So all in all it was a decent day with the club weighing in about 33 lbs of fish and no apparent loss of digits! So good job to everyone and I am sure we all can not wait till next years trip!
P.S. The rest of the standings can be found under the Tournament Results tab!
P.S.S I STILL HATE THIS PLACE!!!!
